Redbridge Sports Centre Forest Road Redbridge Sports Centre Website Entries have now closed, see news item. Info This competition is part of the British tour and points for rankings will be allocated as a International Open. World Ranking points are also available. The event is being organised by the English Racketlon Association. All standards are welcome. Note that all players are required to pay the international racketlon federation license fee of 10 euros. This is a one off payment to cover international competition in the calendar year of 2011 and goes directly to the FIR (International Racketlon Federation). This is to promote racketlon worldwide and also to fund efforts to get the Sport recognised with the Olympic committee. Entry Steps Note the www.englishracketlon.org website is a payment mechanism for this event with further information enclosed. The official entry list is found via www.resultreporter.com Step 1: Register on www.resultreporter.com on the "players corner" (if you are already registered on the players corner miss this step). This is your username and password for all ResultReporter events. Step 2: On www.resultreporter.com pay the International Racketlon License on this website via paypal. This covers international competition in 2011 and costs 10 Euros. This is a one off charge for all world ranking events in 2011. Or if you don't have paypal add £9 onto your entry fees and action through bank transfer or cheque as per below. Step 3: On www.resultreporter.com enter the English Open in the desired categories (subject to organiser permission). Step 4: Pay for your entry and guarantee your place in the draw. Choose from the below options. Via the tournament entry page on If that fails for any reason, or you don't have paypal, you can either send cheques payable to 'English Racketlon' & send it to English Racketlon or complete a bank transfer to Account: 10607673, Sort Code: 20-52-74 (English Racketlon). A further option is to 4) "send money" on paypal to keith.lesser@racketlon.com. Email info@englishracketlon.org to confirm receipt. Domestic Entry Fees 2 Day Singles Domestic Player Entry fee = £40. 1 Day Sunday Singles Domestic Player Entry fee = £30 in advance. Option in payment to deduct £10 for No T-shirt (part of entry package). NB Advance payment required. This includes the official English Open t-shirt. A ticket for the players buffet on Saturday evening is included for international players and £5 for all other participants. The FIR License fee is in addition to this if a player does not already have this. Note doubles entry is £30 per pair and does not include a t-shirt. Redbridge member discounts are available on request, this is to encourage local participation. A 2nd singles category is available at a discounted £20. A player entering 2 categories will only receive one t-shirt. Category Advice Enter half a category lower than you normally would. IE if you finish near the top of your category on the domestic circuit stay in the same for the English Open, if you finish near the bottom, move down one. This applies to the Mens Banded Singles. Additionally note the wildcard rule which can be found on the FIR rulebook on www.racketlon.net, this applies primarily to Mens Class A entries which are restricted according to World Ranking and limited Wildcard entry. Foreign Player Entry Fees (for singles, doubles as domestic). 2 Day Singles Foreign Player Entry fee = £40 in advance or 50 Euros on the Day. 1 Day Sunday Singles Foreign Player Entry fee = £30 in advance or 40 Euros on the Day. A 2nd singles category is available at a discounted £20. A player entering 2 categories will only receive one t-shirt. Entry Limitations Friday Doubles - men may enter EITHER Mens Doubles or Mixed Doubles - not both. Saturday 2-Day Singles - only one open singles category may be entered. Veterans may enter both open and veterans categories, but with an overall limit of two singles categories, or one ladies singles category if playing both Mixed Doubled and Ladies Doubles. Sunday 1-Day Singles - only one 1-day singles category may be entered. Juniors may combine a 2-day singles event with a junior category, except girls playing both Mixed Doubles and Level Doubles who should only play one singles category, either open or junior. Schedule Friday Night - Doubles Events - Rounds 1 & 2. 7pm start. Saturday - Singles Events 1pm start. Saturday Night - Players Party Sunday - 9am to 5pm - Semi Finals and Finals, Ladies B, Mens C, D & Juniors. Doubles finals. Entry Closing Dates Friday 5th August 2011 - Elite events (Mens Singles A / Womens Singles A) English Open Prize Money Men 650 Euros 1st - 300, 2nd - 200, 3rd - 100, 4th - 50. Women 350 Euros 1st - 200, 2nd - 100, 3rd - 50 Courts & Facilities FIVE INDOOR TENNIS, FIVE SQUASH, FIVE BADMINTON, SIX+ TABLE TENNIS + Some Outdoor tennis. Gym (small extra payment may be needed). Showers, changing rooms and restaurant all on site. One tennis court will be used for table tennis, signing in and match distribution will be on the balcony (stairs next to the tennis courts). EXCELLENT VIEWING GALLERIES! Accommodation & Travel We recommend 3 hotels for this tournament. All of them are within 2 to 3 miles of the venue but more importantly they are all very close to London Underground stations on the same line as Fairlop - the station next to the venue. Players are encouraged to purchase Oyster Cards for their travel requirements as this works out much cheaper than cash fares. 1. St Georgio Hotel, Ilford This is an excellent value for money hotel right next to Gants Hill tube station (100m), and just under 2 miles to the venue. Prices for a triple room work out very cheap for London. Excellent location. Book via www.stgeorgio.com 2. Travelodge at 'London Ilford Gants Hill' Travelodge is a chain of hotels throughout the UK that offer comfort at reasonable prices. This hotel is 400m (4 minute walk) from Gants Hill tube station and 2 miles from the venue, making it very easy to reach. It is also in an excellent location for bars, restaurants and pubs. Book via www.travelodge.co.uk 3. Premier Inn at 'Ilford' Premier Inn is a chain of hotels similar to Travelodge (but slightly nicer). This hotel is situated opposite Redbridge tube station (again, on the same line as 'Fairlop' and 1 along from 'Gants Hill'). It is approximately 3 miles from the venue. Book via www.premierinn.com These hotels have all been recommended because of their proximity to tube stations on the Central (red) line - this is the same line as Fairlop (for the venue) as well as Central London in the other direction (approx 30 minutes). They are all 2-3 miles from the venue so 30 minutes or more by foot, but they are the nearest hotels to the venue. Using the tube is very easy and although a single ticket is expensive, you can buy a daily travelcard for £5 which enables you to travel anywhere in London on the tube, buses and normal trains. For more information on travelling between the hotels and venue, and for London transport in general and a map of the tube network, visit www.tfl.gov.uk Please note although we can guarantee a shuttle to and from Stansted airport when you arrive and leave (as long as you tell us!), the hotel is a short bus or train ride to the sports centre. The Sports Centre has a train station next door. From Stansted airport it takes 45 minutes. Stansted is 20 minutes by car so a taxi is also an option with a few players travelling together. We regret that we will not be able to refund any entry fee on a cancellation less than 3 weeks away from the competition day. It is likely singles events will have 4 scheduled matches to 21 and doubles at least 3 matches, pls bear this in mind. Finalists may have a 5th round to 21. Pls note capacity in brackets (above). Players can only enter ONE doubles category and only one of the Mens Band A-C events. It is not possible to play Mens B and Mens C. The organisation are happy to help you choose the most appropriate category and have enclosed advice on each category specific page. It's not possible to play both Mens Doubles and Mixed Doubles (men can only play one doubles event). It is possible to play Mixed Doubles and Ladies Doubles. Ladies Doubles will take place over the weekend.  |

Participant Waiver - Note, each participant is providing an electronic signature to this waiver upon registration.
I understand that participating in this event is potentially hazardous, and that I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained.
In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while I am traveling to or from the event, during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event.
I also am aware of and assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effect of weather, traffic, and conditions of the road.
I, for myself and my heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the event organizers, sponsors, promoters, englishracketlon.org and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event, for all my liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in this event.
I understand that this waiver includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.
I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable in the time periods advertised and any pullout with due notice will be considered for a partial refund accounting for an administration charge. I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the above parties to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of this event.
